First you will need to check if the SNMP Service is running in the Host Machine.

If you don’t know what an SNMP is, check this article first:
After you install and run the SNMP Agent, try again to get the Host Node information by clicking the Get Button. If succeed, good! If not, continue reading this article.
Second thing you might consider to check is the FIREWALL. For SmartDashboard to be able to retrieve SNMP data from the Host, you have to make sure that the FIREWALL is not blocking the way. SNMP using UDP port 161.

Also check, if you are using Internet Security suite, the Security suite firewall might block the UDP port 161.
After you install and run the SNMP Agent, try again to get the Host Node information by clicking the Get Button. If succeed, good! If not…well… search your answer in the next blogs or forums.
